Solar Update
The energy subteam met with Inovateus Solar in February to discuss options for
powering the pavilion with solar energy. We were informed that a south-facing roof and minimal
tree cover were imperative for a successful solar installation, and thankfully the picnic structure in
Southeast Neighborhood Park works for these constraints.

Inovateus generously provided us with this shade analysis (seen below) that shows the shade
paths in summer and winter. Also in this diagram is an outline of the optimal location for the panels on
the roof.
