2nd Meeting with Mike Beganski

On March 20, we met with Mike Beganski to accept the donation of a mesh access point. The access point that Mike donated is extremely weather-proof, and more information can be found by researching the Cisco Aironet 1520 Series Outdoor Mesh Access Point.  At this meeting, he explained that the most pressing issue is finding a way to power the access point. We plan on connecting it to solar panels, a battery, and a power injector to provide continuous power.

The next steps for our team include connecting the access point to a battery that is charged by solar panels, and installing the access point in the park. We are working with the larger group and community partners to find when it will be best to take these next steps. When we accomplish these two tasks, the two most difficult tasks will be done: finding power and finding a place to mount the access point.
