Team Dust: Initial Findings

In the first two iterations of the windowsill test, the dry microfiber cloth appeared to be the most efficient method of lead dust removal. The lead levels in the area of the windowsill wiped by a microfiber cloth were below detection levels for both trials, compared to higher levels of lead in control (unwiped) areas of the windowsill.

For the vacuum test, our initial results showed increased lead levels in carpeted areas after vacuuming (both with a HEPA filter vacuum and regular filter). This is inconsistent with expected values. In order to make conclusions from this test, more tests will be required to further analyze the results.
